Objective

Boost engagement, encourage creativity, and foster community interaction among anime fans.

Concept and Strategy

To promote creativity and community interaction, I designed a fun, interactive challenge centered around Krillin, the iconic and humorous character from Dragon Ball.

  1. Activity Outline:
  • An incomplete drawing of Krillin (head and feet only) was posted on Facebook.
  • Followers were invited to complete the body in their own style and share their drawings as comments under the post.

2. Why Krillin? : Krillin’s humorous and lighthearted reputation encouraged fans to approach the challenge without hesitation, making it a perfect choice for a playful activity.

3. Execution – The post encouraged fans to :
  • Download the incomplete drawing from the post.
  • Create their version of Krillin’s body.
  • Post their completed drawings in the Facebook comments.

4.Instagram Follow-Up:
  • After 24 hours, all submitted drawings were compiled into an Instagram carousel post and Stories, extending the activity’s reach to Otakutique’s Instagram followers who didn’t participate on Facebook.

Results

Engagement Metrics:
  • Facebook: Multiple unique submissions in the comments section.
  • Instagram: The reposted drawings generated lively discussions and likes across Stories and carousel posts.
  • Overall Reach: The challenge boosted page traffic by 20% and attracted new followers across platforms.
Community Impact :
  • Fans shared their creations and engaged with others’ designs, strengthening the sense of community.
  • The lighthearted nature of the activity made it accessible to all skill levels, encouraging widespread participation.
Key  Takeaways
  • Facebook’s comment system allowed seamless participation, while Instagram Stories and carousels extended the campaign’s visibility.
  • The humorous and non-serious tone of the challenge broke creative barriers and fostered inclusivity.
  • Featuring fan-generated content created a sense of acknowledgment, enhancing brand loyalty.

top submissions

Here are a few interesting submissions. Enjoy 🙂

“I can finally breathe”
  • This fan humorously drew a nose on Krillin’s face, referencing the fact that Krillin is one of the few characters in Dragon Ball with no nose drawn in the manga.
“Kill me”
  • Playing on the long-running joke that Krillin is often the first character to die and be resurrected with the Dragon Balls, this fan embraced the humor with a funny caption.
“Krillina”
  • This fan reimagined Krillin as a woman, complete with feminine features, and captioned it “Krillina.”
“Perfect completion”
  • This fan showed off their artistic skills by finishing the drawing accurately, recreating Krillin’s uniform and legs in perfect detail.
